Sebastian Vettel (born 3 July 1987) is a German former Formula 1 driver who won four consecutive World Championships with Red Bull from 2010 to 2013. He took 53 Grand Prix wins, 57 pole positions and 122 podiums from 299 starts across sixteen seasons. He was the youngest World Champion in the sport's history at 23, and retired at the end of 2022.

Sebastian Vettel is a German racing driver who won four consecutive Formula 1 World Championships with Red Bull between 2010 and 2013, and remains one of the most successful drivers in the history of the sport.

The Youngest of Everything He won at Monza in 2008 for Toro Rosso at 21, the youngest Grand Prix winner of the time, and took the team’s first victory in the process. Two years later he was the youngest World Champion. He then became the youngest double, triple and quadruple champion in turn.

The Red Bull Years The 2013 season is the high-water mark: thirteen wins including nine in a row, a run that equalled Alberto Ascari’s sixty-year-old record. In 2011 he took fifteen pole positions from nineteen races.

Ferrari and After He moved to Ferrari in 2015 and led two championship fights against Lewis Hamilton, in 2017 and 2018, without converting either. Two seasons at Aston Martin followed, and he retired at the end of 2022 after 299 starts — increasingly known as much for what he said off the track as for what he did on it.

Chapter 01

Monza, in the Rain

Toro Rosso was Red Bull's junior team, running a year-old chassis. On 14 September 2008 Vettel put it on pole in the wet at Monza — the team's first and only pole — and won the race by twelve seconds. He was 21 years and 73 days old, taking the youngest-winner record from Fernando Alonso and giving the team its first victory. It is still one of the most improbable results in modern Formula 1.

Chapter 02

Four in a Row

Vettel won the championship in 2010 at 23, then again in 2011, 2012 and 2013 — the youngest single, double, triple and quadruple champion the sport has had. 2011 brought fifteen poles from nineteen races. 2013 brought thirteen wins including the last nine of the season in a row, equalling a record Alberto Ascari had held for sixty years. Only Fangio, Schumacher and Hamilton have won four in a row.

Chapter 03

The Ferrari Fight

He joined Ferrari in 2015 wanting to do what Schumacher had done, and twice took the fight to Mercedes: leading the championship deep into 2017 and again in 2018 before both campaigns unravelled. Three wins in his first Ferrari season, five in each of the title years, and no fifth crown. He left for Aston Martin in 2021 and retired at the end of 2022.
