Valentino Rossi is an Italian motorcycle racer who has won multiple MotoGP World Championships. With nine Grand Prix World Championships under his belt, including seven in the top class, he is widely regarded as the best and most successful motorcycle racer of all time.

Valentino began racing in Grand Prix in 1996 for Aprilia in the 125cc category, following in the footsteps of his father, Graziano Rossi, and won his first World Championship the following year. After that, he switched to Aprilia and won the 250cc World Championship in 1999. After graduating to the premier class in 2000, he won the 500cc World Championship with Honda in 2001, the MotoGP World Championships with Honda in 2002 and 2003, and continued his back-to-back championship streak by winning the 2004 and 2005 titles after leaving Honda to join Yamaha, before regaining and retaining the title in 2008. He left Yamaha in 2011 to join Ducati, but it was announced in 2012 that he will return to Yamaha for the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
