Dainese is an Italian manufacturer of protective apparel and technology equipment for high-intensity activities such as motorcycling, mountain biking, winter sports, and horseback riding. Lino Dainese created the company in 1972 and is now a minority stakeholder. . The company has evolved organically and through acquisitions, the most notable of which was AGV, an Italian helmet maker (2007).
The Dainese Group uses AGV helmets, as well as Dainese suits, jackets, shock-absorbing armor, back protectors, pants, boots, gloves, and other accessories. These products are made of traditional cowhide, kangaroo leather, aramid, carbon fiber, and titanium and are available off-the-rack, built-to-measure, or custom manufactured. Settantadue, a motorcycling fashion clothing brand, was added to Dainese in 2017.
Dainese has expanded their product line to include mountain biking, skiing, and horseback riding throughout the years, frequently using motorcycle racing technologies.
Dainese has always been a supporter of motorsports. Giacomo Agostini, a 15-time World Champion, was among the first riders to use Dainese leathers, which he began using in 1975.
