Pierre Gasly, the sixth Formula One driver to test positive on COVID-19, insisted that he was “feeling OK.”
The AlphaTauri driver, 24, claimed he was self-isolating at home.
“I wanted to let you know that I have tested positive for COVID-19. I have told everyone I have been in contact with during these last few days,” Gasly wrote in a statement on Twitter.

“I am feeling OK and will continue to follow my training plan from home while I remain in isolation.” Gasly, who won his first race of his career in the Italian Grand Prix last season and finished 10th overall, is the latest F1 driver to test positive in recent months.
Lewis Hamilton, the world champion, missed the Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain before returning to compete in the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
Two days after Formula One was forced to postpone two of this season’s Grands Prix in Australia and China, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc said he had tested positive for COVID-19.
After the completion of the 2020 season, Lando Norris, a British McLaren driver, tested positive while on vacation in Dubai.
Sergio Perez was ruled out of the British Grand Prix after testing positive for the coronavirus last season.
Because to the infection, his Racing Point colleague Lance Stroll was unable to compete in the Eifel Grand Prix in Germany.
